Father's day just came one day early....two new SYKCO blades in hand
I had held off getting a 311 in hopes that Dan would release a tan or MO version. SCORE!! This will be my new truck knife, most likely. Sure needs to be stripped first...naughty little knife
On to the ELMAX. No working pics (yet)...this is just data / information collecting for those that are interested in drawing comparisons against familiar blades.
She is amazingly light. Lighter than the 311 and Basic 04 Anorexic both. Lighter than my Gene Ingram #1. Way lighter than the SS4. A group shot, handles aligned...Top to Bottom: SS4, B4, Scrap Max, Gene Ingram.
And...spine shots (dropped the GI, included the 311). Top to Bottom: Anorexic B4, Scrap Max, SS4, 311.
A lot of folks have been looking for an SS4 in ELMAX. Thought I would do a solo comparison of the SS4 and Scrap Max. Here they are side by side...notice how the SS4 looks much leaner, but I think this is a result of the mudder handles which sway back (compared to the straight handle of the Scrap Max):
This pic took the longest to get right. I aligned the Top of the spines near the handles...so best to compare the blade profiles of the SS4 / Scrap Max. Scrap Max is on top, and you can see the SS4 below (longer):
For giggles, I threw the Gene Ingram on top of the Scrap Max, for additional comparison (since the Ingram is one of my favorites for processing game):
Now, for a bit of data. I've been hearing about the "belly" on the Scrap Max...especially in comparison to the SS4. Interesting tidbits that follow...
SS4 is ~1.117"
Scrap Max is ~1.040"
and...the GI #1 Drop Point is ~.982"
NEEDLESS to say, I cannot wait for Father's day!! "What you wanna do honey?"...."Sorry, can't talk, gotta go cut some stuff"
